Young researchers training workshop on conducting LGBTQ+ health research:
A five-day national workshop on conducting LGBTQ+ health research in India was held from March 24-28, 2025, at Hotel Park View, Chandigarh. The workshop featuh6red 20 in-depth and 6 virtual/pre-recorded sessions, bringing together 20 in-person participants, including research scholars, healthcare professionals, and working professionals, who actively engaged throughout the program. The workshop aimed to enhance understanding of the LGBTQ+ community, health disparities and research methodologies. It had a comprehensive curriculum covering LGBTQ+ health disparities, LGBTQ-specific theoretical frameworks, research designs, sampling or recruitment strategies, innovative or creative research approaches, research ethics, and community-based participatory research. The workshop has been pivotal in fostering skilled researchers, promoting ethical and community-centred research practices, and shaping a research agenda that addresses the complex health disparities faced by LGBTQ+ populations.
Training session for health care professionals on LGBTQ+ affirming care:
A ninety-minute training session on LGBTQ+ affirming care for health care professionals and NGO staff was organised at the AIDSCON-13 on 10th and 11th February, 2025, at Hotel Mountview, Chandigarh. The session enhanced providers' knowledge, attitudes, and skills, leading to better health outcomes, increased trust, and reduced disparities for LGBTQ+ patients.
